Having owned some 24 power boats over my life, I have had plenty of experience in having marine electronic work done on my boats, especially as the world has become more technologically sophisticated. In 2017 I was lucky enough to meet Greg Lewis of Mainsail Electronics, who completed a major refit of a highly sophisticated electronic package to my Maritimo 500, including Waasp, Furuno Omni-sonar and a full Furuno game-fishing package. This was a complex installation made more difficult as all the equipment had previously been removed from my previous boat, but everything was not labelled. Greg not only installed and had working efficiently, but the installation was the tidiest electronic installation I have experienced, with every cable properly secured and also clearly identified for future.
Since that installation, Greg has been my go-to marine electronic adviser, installer and supplier for my subsequent boats, again set up for blue-water boating and big game fishing.
